My favourite colour is black. I like it because is an amazing colour and contrary to general opinions, it makes me feel happy. Some people find this awkward and believe that black is not a colour. To me it is a colour that gulps all other colours with such elegance. It is the grandest of them all because it portends power, authority and control. It is all embracing and goes with anything. I have been attracted to black as long as I can remember. There is just something about that colour that appeals to me… perhaps the mystery associated with it. When I go out to get a pair of shoes for instance, I first reach out for a black pair. If I happen to go with a friend of mine who is bound to say …Not black again, I may look for some other colour. I just love the strong nature of black…so silently bold. Black tends to down tone bright colours (which I don’t like) and goes with almost anything. Ignoring all the negative connotations like death, sadness or evil, associated with black in many cultures, black is a very magnificent colour. It is very formal and gives me a kind of confident sensation. I am very comfortable when I wear a least one black item on me. It gives me a feeling of intensity and perception. I have always loved a full black outfit…black on black on black. I occasionally go for other colours but they must be on the dark side like brown, navy blue, grey and maroon.

Maybe its societal indoctrination but I really don't share that opinion.I think black is just a background to to bring out other colours- a tapestry kind of, like an artist's canvass.Its solid,its sturdy but...You know, like when Yahweh created the world, we are told it was void and in darkness (Black?),God is an artist,so HE used it as his canvas to express HIS creatorial artistic personality.
